Houma December Nonprofit of the Month: Children’s Advocacy Center
This December, EmpowerHer Life Houma is proud to support the Terrebonne Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC), a vital organization providing hope and healing to child abuse victims in our community.
About the Children’s Advocacy Center: Founded by District Attorney Joe Waitz, Jr., the CAC serves as a safe haven where children can share their stories in a supportive environment. The center conducts approximately 125 forensic interviews annually, providing crucial services including:
- Child-friendly forensic interviews
- Mental health counseling
- Crime victim assistance
- Court preparation support
- Ongoing advocacy
Our Holiday Mission: This month, we’re collecting funds to provide holiday meals for families served by the CAC. Just $120 can feed a family of five during the holiday season.
How You Can Help: Join us in supporting these brave children and their families by contributing at any of our December events. Your donation helps ensure these families can share a warm holiday meal together during a challenging time.

Together, we can make the holidays brighter for families in our community while supporting an organization that provides essential services year-round.
Remember: Every contribution, no matter the size, helps create moments of joy for children who need it most.
